UKAS Calibration
Why Use a UKAS Accredited Laboratory
Reasons for Choosing UKAS Calibration
- Verified Competence & Reliability: UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) auditors thoroughly examine calibration procedures, staff training, and technical capabilities to ensure they meet stringent international standards.
- Traceability to National Standards: UKAS calibration ensures an unbroken chain of measurements back to national laboratories, such as the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), guaranteeing accuracy.
- Regulatory & Safety Compliance: It is frequently required by regulators to meet strict safety standards, especially in high-stakes fields like aerospace and medicine.
- Risk Mitigation & Quality Control: Using accredited services limits product failure, reduces downtime, and prevents costs associated with faulty measurements.
- Global Recognition: As a member of international mutual recognition arrangements (MRAs), a UKAS certificate is recognised globally, facilitating international trade and reducing the need for re-testing.
Our UKAS-accredited Dimensional Calibration services are performed in line with UKAS Schedule 0339 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, providing precise, traceable measurement verification for a range of dimensional instruments and standards.
We calibrate gauges, measuring tools and length standards to defined Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC) ranges with documented uncertainties. Results are issued on a UKAS calibration certificate, recognised nationally and internationally for quality, audit, and compliance purposes.
Calibration Scope
Our dimensional calibration covers, but is not limited to:
Length Standards
- Gauge blocks (steel & carbide) calibrated by comparison to national reference standards
Precision Measuring Instruments
- Callipers, micrometers, height and depth gauges
- Sigma comparator
- Plain plug and plain ring gauges
- Vee blocks
- Gap gauges
- Squares, blade type
- Bevel protractors
- Dial and digital indicators
